Visa for the United Kingdom
The BRITCHAM offers the service of assistance and support for members who need to apply for a visa to the UK for the first time or renew an existing one. We guide our members at all times. Managing your visa through BRITCHAM guarantees a legal, knowledgeable and smooth process, for a reasonable cost per application.
Currently the process of applying for UK visas is completed via online, applicants are recommended to have enough time to process their visa before making arrangements thereof, as the process can last from 2 to 3 weeks.
You can find information on whether you need a visa, the requirements for each category of visa, costs, and guidance on how to apply at the link www.gov.uk. Select the "Visas and Immigration" link to relevant information as well as guidelines.
The application is completed online, you must pay the costs of the application through a credit card and request an appointment through the following link: www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. After enrolling the biometric data in the Visa Application Centre (VAC), the passport is sent via courier to the British Consulate at New York.
The Visa Application Centre (VAC) is located at the offices of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Calle Moises Garcia No. 25, in the Gazcue Sector of the city of Santo Domingo, National District.
Because of the extensive processing times of the visas for the United Kingdom from the Dominican Republic, applicants may also acquire a Priority Visa Service through the link www.vfsglobal.co.uk. This service allows you to have your application placed in front of the line of the rest of the requests, when it is received by the UK Government Decision Making Center (DMC) in New York, so that the process begins first than the remaining applications. A response is not guaranteed in a specific period of time, but it is faster than the regular visa service.
Also, the BRITCHAM offers the service through an agency in New York, to directly manage an expedited visa throughout a expedite service. The agency reviews all documents and submits the application to the British Consulate at New York, and once the visa is ready collects it at the Consulate and forwards the passports via FedEx to the Dominican Republic. Currently, the visa processing time for this service is 3 to 5 working days.
The agency has an additional cost for their services per application, plus any additional charge via FedEx.
Applicants don’t need to be in the USA during the priority application. However, if they wish, they can travel to New York to deliver their application directly to the agency and wait for the visa to be ready. It is important to note that travelling to New York does not speed up the visa processing time (3 to 5 working days) and applicants must remain in the city until the process is completed.
Please note that VFS Global currently operates seven Premium Application Centres, located in New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco. The Premium Application Centres are full-service, with biometrics capture on site. The centres do not accept Standard or Priority Visa applicants. The Premium Service Packages listed on the following link are the only services offered at the centres: www.vfsglobal.co.uk
All decisions for granting a visa remain with the UK Government subject to lodging a valid application using the free forms available on the Government’s website and meeting the relevant criteria. BRITCHAM is not affiliated with the UK Government and acts independently in the interests of our members.
