The Commonwealth Day was celebrated in the Dominican Republic

The Round Table of the Commonwealth Countries in the Dominican Republic called a meeting to celebrate the Commonwealth Day at the Auditorium of the University Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo INTEC. The meeting was attended by professors, students, members, businessmen and friends of the Round Table. The program of the celebration started with the welcome words of the University Chancellor, Dr Miguel Escala: Then the past President of the Canadian Dominican Chamber of Commerce Mr Fernando Rainieri explained what was the theme of this years celebration. Followed by the British Consul Mr Scott Richard Melling who read the message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.Then the President of the Round Table and Honorary Consul of India, Mr Fernando Gonzalez spoke about the Commonwealth and its Impact on the Dominican Economy: Finally the Vice President of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic, Mr Marcos Peña gave the close up and farewell words to those who attended the activity.
