Donation to Plan International

Every year the Board of Director of The British Chamber destines the benefits of the golf cup to a beneficial institution of British origins that works toward the social development of our country, the contribution of the funds collected during the X British Golf Cup was given to Plan International, in a small act at the office of Plan.

Plan International, organization who is dedicated to the community development, will destine these proceeds to the construction of the aqueduct, in La Barranca - San Juan de la Maguana, 75% of the population do not receive potable water. The residents of La Barranca must walk long distances to obtain contaminated water that repels in great damages to the health of the habitants.

Roberto Herrera, president of Chamber and Elsa Turull de Alma, executive director gave the institution a check for RD$ 100.000,00 to the director of Plan International, Fritz Foster and to a committee integrated by communitarian of La Barranca. The beneficiaries expressed their gratefulness towards the Chamber and Plan who accompanied them to the process, which has involved all sectors from La Barranca in order to guarantee its sustainability.
