COMMONWEALTH DAY CELEBRATED IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
The Commonwealth Day was celebrated in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic with a cocktail offered by the British Ambassador Ian Worthington and the President of the Round Table of the Commonwealth Countries in the Dominican Republic and Honorary Consul of India, Fernando Gonzalez Nicolas.
The cocktail took place at the residence of the British Embassy and it was attend among others by the Canadian Ambassador, Patricia Fortier, the Ambassador to the Organization of American States OES Paul Durant, the Consul of Trinidad and Tobago, Freddy Reyes, of Belize Eduardo Lama, of Antigua Ricardo Koenig, as well as the President of the British Chamber in DR Roberto Herrera, of the Canadian Fernando Rainieri.
Also the representatives of BAT Charles Ureña, of Shell Rafael MAradiaga, of the Anshmore Group Otto Gonzalez and of Haina Tito Sanjurjo and Fernando Gonzalez Baquero among others.
Ambassador Worthington read the message of Queen Elizabeth the II and the President of the Round Table stressed of the opportunity it is offered by the celebration of the 60 anniversary of the Commonwealth at with a Head of State meeting, in this occasion in this Caribbean region.
