Following a tradition started more than a decade ago we celebrated our XII British Golf Cup at the Metro Country Club links this past March 6 in honour of Mr. Fernando González Nicolás, president and founder of the organization who was one of the individuals that had the vision to recognize how important it was to develop commercial relations between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and our country.
The tournament’s director on behalf of the British Chamber, Mr. José Maria Cabral, in an act of friendship and solidarity, acknowledged the contributions made by the prominent sportsman Mr. Toñito Ramirez, accompanied by his wife, and who received the cup’s official banner signed by all the players, among other recognitions.
The British Golf Cup is organized every year with the main object of collecting funds to be used in the different activities performed by the entity in favour of strengthening commercial relations between the United Kingdom and Dominican Republic, as well as to support British NGOs established in our country and we therefore thank our sponsors: The Shell Co., Propagas, Seguros Universal, Brugal & CIA, CESPM, Generadora San Felipe, EgeHaina, Generadora Palamara La Vega, Viajes Alkasa, La Aurora, Miller, Cabral & Díaz, Álvarez & Sánchez and Unilever, among others.
