The British Trading Chamber’s Board was invited to attend the First Penitentiary Festival at Casa de Teatro in the fields of theater, dance, soloists, declamation and musical group, among other art manifestations. 

This festival is part of the activities performed by the inmates within the new Penitentiary Management Model promoted by the country’s authorities, headed by the Dominican Republic’s Attorney General, Dr. Radhamés Jiménez Peña, and by Mr. Roberto Santana, National Coordinator of the New Penitentiary System. 

The participants acted on behalf of the Correction and Rehabilitation Centers that belong to the Penitentiary Management Model: San Felipe de Puerto Plata, Rafey Men, Rafey Women, Vista al Valle, Haras Nacionales, Monte Plata, Valverde Mao, Dajabón, Elías Piña and Najayo Women.

With their presence, the board members provided support to the representatives of the different centers and they were able to confirm how happy are those interned in the different Correction and Rehabilitation Centers due to this festival, where those deprived from their freedoms gave their best.
