In response to the polite invitation made to the British Chamber of Commerce by Plan International, organization dedicated to the development of the southern region, as by leaders of the Community of La Barranca, the directors, members and special guests of the British Chamber of Commerce visited San Juan de la Maguana.

Mrs. Licelotte Baigés, Public Relations Executive of PLAN, presented to us the facilities Plan has in this province, as she offered us with a brief explanation of the organization, before heading off to La Barranca in order to evidence the advances and construction of the aqueduct.

The communitarians of the zone received us at the entrance of the village where we saw that the aqueduct is at 80% completion of its construction phase. Afterwards, we gathered at a terrace where we assembled meeting and spoke to a varied of committees from La Barranca, whom presented and explained to us, processes and organization necessary to fulfil the project. They expressed that without the technical knowledge and support received from Plan this would not be possible, as they also voiced out their appreciation for the contributions of the British Chamber of Commerce.

Our President, Mr. Roberto Herrera, showed his satisfaction for the materialization of the fulfilled goals attained by the communitarians present and evident in the aqueduct, as he also sustained an open dialogue with the communitarians present and exhorted them to continue working for their future goals.

Lic. José Maria Cabral, past President of the British Chamber of Commerce, thanked the attentions given to representatives of the British Chamber of Commerce, expressing that "we all left with a full heart, thanks to the example of humility and solidarity shown by, and through, the communitarians present".
