February 17-18 2008: First cultural reunion of the year was celebrated under the patronage and coordination of the British Chamber of Commerce at the Gardens of the Residence of the Ambassador of Great Britain and North Ireland, our Honourable Ambassador, Ian A. Worthington. Bacardi Dominicana and Diageo, representatives of known spirits bottling companies, invited all members and Dominican Republic music-knowledgeable personalities to enjoy a private recital performed by Scottish Tenors Caledon.
Caledon members: Alan Beck, James MacDougall and Ivan Sharpe, under the musical direction of Michael Barnett delighted the audience with song themes of their vast repertoire, on their very first presentation in Dominican soil.
Entrance to the residence was decorated specially for that special event. Two large tables were filled with hors d'ouvres and liquorish filled deserts, a gift from Bacardi and Diageo, sponsors of the event. Bars were installed in the surrounding areas for the occasion by Bacardi Dominicana and its Whisky Dewars, and by Diageo and its Whisky Johnnie Walker, both distilled with Scottish malts, which guests enjoyed and enjoyed.
