Donation to School 2008-2009

21 August 2008: The British Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic organized hand in of scholastic materials to be delivered to poor children at Villas Agrícolas sector, which allowed them to be prepared to study on present school year 2008-2009.

Donation was headed by the President of the British Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Roberto Herrera, and was effected at Fundación Abriendo Camino, a non-profit organization, aimed to better education and knowledge of youngsters at this undeveloped sector.

More than 120 children, coming from the schools: Palacio Escolar España, Club 12 Juegos and others, all participants of the education programs ran by Fundación Abriendo Camino, received notebooks, dictionaries, text books, pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, and other school utensils that conforms educational requirements which can not be bought or be bored by their parents.

Fundación Abriendo Camino organized the act in which the British Chamber of Commerce delivered the school utensils. Elisabeth de Puig, President of Fundación Abriendo Camino pronounced welcoming speech. She thanked all Representatives of the British Chamber of Commerce present, as to each of the Collaborators which came together to help in this educative cause:
