Charitable Foundations Receive Contribution from Chamber

Giving continuity to our program of social responsibility, the British Chamber of Commerce made a contribution of educative materials and text books toward two charitable foundations: Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral(IDDI) and Fundación Abriendo Camino.

Roberto Herrera president of the British Chamber, expressed that these contributions have been possible by the generosity of companies affiliated with the organization such as: Koor Caribe, Compañía de Electricidad de San Pedro de Macorís, Caribe Comercial, Do-Ven Import & Export, Construcciones y Transporte Pagan, Pastoriza, S.A, Piñeiro & Lara, Equipasa, Banco Popular y Cesar Iglesias C x A..

Elisabeth de Puig, president of the Fundación Abriendo Camino, received from hands of Elsa Turull de Alma, executive director of the Chamber, scholastic materials and equipment for the children and youngsters that this institution supports.

Abriendo Camino is a nongovernmental institution without aims of profit, founded in 2002 in order to work in favor of the children, adolescents and marginalized young people of the sector of Villas Agrícolas.

The English and Spanish text book contribution was made by Antón Tejeda, president of the company Antillian Service, could be used in different scholastic levels, and are printed by the publishing houses that they represent in our country.

David Luther, Executive Director of the IDDI, organism without profit aims, expressed that the books will be destined to Centro de Educación Comunitario, sponsors by the Cigar Family in Bonao.
